Dr. Labby is an ear, nose, and throat surgeon with fellowship training in advanced sinus and skull base surgery. Patient comfort and satisfaction is at the forefront of his care, which combines expert medical knowledge with the most up-to-date surgical techniques to provide you with the best outcome possible.
We offer comprehensive examinations to diagnose diseases throughout the head and neck. This is supplemented by the use of advanced endoscopic equipment to see inside the ears, nose, sinuses, and the voice box. Testing for hearing, balance, and specialized imaging is performed through our high-quality, associated departments.
Problems of the nose and sinuses that affect nasal breathing, congestion, smell, pain/pressure, or runny nose can usually be managed without uncomfortable procedures or surgeries, and we offer the latest research-based knowledge and treatments available to effectively improve your quality of life.
We offer effective office-based procedures for sinonasal issues that avoid the risks of anesthesia and costs of an operating room. These include the treatment of recurrent epistaxis (bloody nose), balloon dilation for treatment of localized sinus disease, simple nasal polyp removal, nerve ablation for treatment of rhinitis, and treatment of enlarged tissue lining the nose (turbinate reduction and septum swell bodies).
The goal of all nasal airway surgery is to improve breathing at rest, with exercise, and during sleep. This is done by creating a nasal cavity that is both symmetric and unobstructed. The most common surgeries to attain this are via the correction of a deviated septum and turbinate reduction procedures
Modern techniques allow us to treat nearly the entire range of sinus disease without making any external scars, including severe inflammation with blocked sinuses, nasal polyps, and recurrent infections. Because of his training, other ENT surgeons refer complex cases of sinus disease to Dr. Labby that they are struggling with.
Our associated departments offer the full spectrum of diagnostic testing for the head and neck. This includes hearing and balance testing, hearing aid customization, x-ray, ultrasound, CT, and MRI imaging, as well as image-guided biopsies.
Tumors of the nose and sinuses, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, pituitary or other tumors of the skull base (the area under the brain), blocked tear ducts, thyroid eye disease, and orbital tumors can all be reached safely through the nose with short recovery time and no external scars. These surgeries are often done with the combined expertise of our oculoplastic surgical or neurosurgical colleagues.
In addition to his expertise in sinus and nasal surgery, as a board-certified ear, nose, and throat surgeon, Dr. Labby performs the broad range of procedures and surgeries of the head and neck. This includes tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, lymph node biopsies, ear tubes and ear drum repair, and many others.
We are able to perform examinations under anesthesia to evaluate concerning lesions of the nose and sinuses, throat, voice box, and vocal cords. At the same time, we obtain tissue samples of lesions (masses) to provide you with the diagnosis and direct treatment in a timely fashion.
Dr. Labby's motivation to pursue surgical training was kindled early in his education. His attention was captured by the complexity of the most intricate anatomic structures in the human body - those of the head and neck. Fueled by his desire to help those experiencing discomfort, and satisfying the need to use his hands in his everyday work, ENT surgery was a natural fit for him.
In addition to his role as a physician, Dr. Labby also considers himself a life-long ENT patient. Having had problems with his sinuses since childhood, and with medical treatments eventually no longer working as his issues became more severe, he elected to have sinus surgery before medical school. He brings his own compassion and knowledge of what it is like to suffer from a head and neck disease to every patient visit - no matter the specific problem.
